ABC award & Orienteering

This week we visited Jump Nation for our ABC prize for last term.  We all had fune- even the teachers!! See the gallery below for pictures.

We have also been outside for PE- following routes and learn ing how to use a map.

Have a safe half term and don't forget your revision.  I know its hard but it will be worth it- SAT's in 8 school weeks!!

Maths Money Week

This week we have been making our own maths games based around the theme of money.  Parent's are invited in on Friday to come and play the games with us.

Pictures to follow!

Along with this we have been developing our understanding of money through calculating with decimals and then applying this to our ratio work in class.  We discovered that this is a life skill- especially of you are a painter or a chef as you need to work out your ingredients using ratio and then the costs!

Please use the link below to see photos from our remembrance service last week that have been put in the St Helens star.  Ellisha Matthews and Kieron Dawson, who took part in the dance are pictured.

This week, in fact today. we took part in the St Helen's first networks remembrance service at Lowe House Church.  It was a very special occassion and we loved taking part.  Children from our school, along with children from another 8 schools did readings, sang songs to commemorate the great war and those that have lost their lives fighting for our country.   Some children even took part in a dance that told the story of a war veteran.

Welcome back to year 6 and to a new half term - Autumn 2!

As usual this half term in year 6 is extremely busy- over the next 2 weeks we ahve the Enterprise final on Wednesday 9th November 16.  4 children will go and make our presentation- the competition will be held in the morning whilst we put our pitch against other schools in St Helens.  Good luck! (No pressure but we have won the past 2 years !!!)

Also at the end of next week (11/11/16) we have the remembrance service at Lowe House church.  All the children will attend- unfortunately as there are 9 other schools plus various school governors and leaders, attendees from he local authority, there is no room for parents to attend.  We will however take lots of pictures and videos to share with you.
