Transition Week

This week has seen the children move to their new classes. It has been a fantastic week for everyone involved, from the children to the teachers. I’d like to say a massive thank you to the children especially—your attitudes to learning and kind, caring nature towards each other are a credit to you all. Next year is going to be full of excitement as usual, we already have some amazing events planned, and we will continue to give you all you need to succeed.

Year 6

Our Year 6 children visited London on Monday and Tuesday and, as usual when our children go to places, they were an absolute credit to the school and Carr Mill. Everyone had sore feet on Wednesday—I still can’t believe the amount of places they managed to visit—but it was well worth it and a fantastic experience for them all. Every single child has come back empowered and this is what Carr Mill Primary is all about. A special thanks must go to Miss Harris, Miss McEvoy, Miss Kenyon and Mrs Vaughan for giving up their time and making sure the trip was such a success.

Next week is their final week as Carr Mill Primary School students. They leave us with some of the best SATs results the school has ever seen. We are very proud of them all and wish everyone of  them success in the future.

Friends of Carr Mill—Summer Fair 2016

A final thank you of the year for our Friends of Carr Mill—Family and friends who continue to give up their time in order to raise money for the school. This year alone they have raised £1725—money that the children have asked goes towards refurbishing the playgrounds.

The final event of the year was the Summer Fair that was held on Friday. As usual this was incredibly well attended by families and friends. I think the photos show that, despite the weather, a good time was had by all!

Thank you to everyone for contributing - we will keep you updated with how much has been raised.

ACE Charity

A massive thank you for everyone who helped raise a fantastic £422 during our 'Sponsor a Fact' money raising event. It was a pleasure to present Ron and Sue with our 'giant' cheque and they are overjoyed with the contribution that will go towards essential building work at the Arise School in Tanzania.
