Welcome back!

Welcome back to a new school year!

It has been a great first week back, with lots going on and even more to come!

British Values / Pupil Voice

This first week has seen the launch of our British Values theme, with the children working on the five values of Rule of Law, Democracy, Mutual Respect, Tolerance of Others and Individual Liberty. I'm pleased to inform you that we will be celebrating these values and the children's work in two weeks time, when we would like to invite families into the school during the morning to join in with the celebrations. The Mayor will also be coming into school to present our 'Yellow Ties' to the children who have been voted onto the School Council and Eco Committee by their peers.

The final decision made by our children last year was choosing a sport's kit design. I think everyone will agree that the kit with the winning vote was a great choice! Tell me your thoughts by going to the 'Headteacher's Blog' tab at the top of this page.

School Meal Taster Sessions

Thank you to everyone who took part in our School Meal taster sessions on Thursday. It was an enormous success, with the Head Chef for the St Helens Authority coming into school to provide information and answer questions about how the school menus are actually put together. The biggest success though was seeing the children sample the different meals and really enjoy their lunch with much enthusiasm! Thank you for those who suggested looking into options such as this during the last parental survey.

Parent and Carer Diary Dates 2016/2017

Finally, please take the time to look at the diary dates at the bottom of this page. Whilst not a complete list of events that will be taking place over the year, I hope that it does go some way in providing  notice for upcoming assemblies etc that you would like to attend in school. More details for the events themselves will be sent out closer to the time.
