Why do plants have roots?

Date: 17th Jun 2016 @ 12:42pm

This week we have been thinking carefully about plants and after recording our cress experiment in which the children learnt that seeds need water and sunlight to make them grow we planted a bean seed in a transparent cup to see what happened. We are waiting patiently because nothing has happened to it yet but as soon as it does we will post an update. Today we tried a science experiment, we placed four white flowers into clear pots with different colours of water. The children made predictions about what might happen; some thought they would die, some thought they would grow, some thought they would change colour and some thought they would change into blue bells.

We are looking forward to coming back to nursery next week to find out.
