Tea@2 with Mr Maley!

Welcome to 'Tea@2 with Mr Maley!' This is where children are invited to tell me their thoughts, ideas and opinions about the school during afternoon tea! They also share a piece of work that they are particularly proud of. Over the year, every child will have the opportunity to take part, and each and every one of them will have a valued opinion that will continue to make our school a special place to be.

Aaron, Lexie, Lydia and Rio

Thank you for your enthusiasm today! It was great to hear about your year. Katie Morag sounded fun, especially the dressing up day. And I hope you get the chance to try some more haggis soon Rio - you've clearly got a taste for it!

I enjoyed hearing about how you all learnt about fractions - by making Pizza! And eating it! Your toast experiement was also really interesting Rio - we will have to get you to advise Mrs Manley how to make the perfect piece of toast (although I think she already knows!)

Lexie, I can see why you are proud of your art work - and yes, even more food haha! But this time in the style of the artist Arcimboldo, creating a face using only fruit! Wow! It was also good to see you use your blending skills when drawing Miss Lloyds real life budgie too!

Africa has clearly made an impact this year. Lydia, your African landscape painting is beautiful - I still can't believe you used your fingers to create those trees! And I can see why your favourite part was painting the people - it all goes together so well.

Aaron, you are so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Africa. Thank you for explaining so much to me. It's great that you have been able to build on your knowledge of Africa from Reception and use this as a starting point to learn more and more! Your writing is wonderful and the thought you put into it is clear to see - it is really informative. Also, thank you for telling me how we have improved Sports Day by having more fun races, like the 3-legged race, and how much you enjoy it. I will let Miss Prendergast know - she will be really pleased about that.

'This is the bestest school!' Rio

'Our teacher lets us have fun when we are learning' Lydia and Lexie
