In reading this week we have continued to develop our inference skills when reading Roald Dahl’s classic James and the giant Peach. We have looked closely at vocabulary used by Roald Dahl to describe Aunt Spiker and Aunt Sponge. We have used these to complete a character comparison of the two aunts.

In writing, have explored a range of features to enhance of sentences such as adverbials of time and manner. We write these out into our table using our sentence building cards  we have wrote our own dairy extract as the character James looking back over his time living with his aunts and the magical day that changed his life.

In maths, Aspen class have enjoyed Miss Rodgers’ challenge to deepen knowledge and application of converting improper fractions to mixed fractions and how to use reversal to check their answers. Aspen class have enjoyed exploring which fractions are equivalent to ½, 1/3, ¼, 1/8, and 1/10.

In PE Aspen class have explored a range of balances as part of their gymnastics topic. Look at them in our photo gallery below.

#attendancematters #teamcarrmill Next week, Aspen class will begin Design Technology week when we will explore leavers to create a mechanical poster.

We hope you enjoy our photos!!
