Welcome to #teamcarrmill
We are so very pleased that your child will be coming to join our Reception Class in September 2023. We are very excited to welcome you to Carr Mill Primary School and would like to thank you for choosing us to shape your child’s future.

Starting school is a huge step not only for your child, but for you as parents too! At Carr Mill Primary School, we want all of our new families to be happy and comfortable with their next big chapter, therefore have a thorough transition process to support your child to settle quickly and get off to the best possible start.
Reception Class Welcome Meeting
On Tuesday 13th June we will be holding welcome meetings for parents to give you a chance to come into school, meet some of the key members of staff and learn all about our daily routines. Please choose one of the following to attend:
Meeting 1: 2pm
Meeting 2: 5pm

Stay and Play Visit 5/7/23
On Wednesday 5th July 2022 we are looking forward to welcoming our new Reception children to a ‘stay and play session’ giving them chance to explore their new classroom and meet their new teacher. During your stay and play session you will be given information about your child’s first days at school in September, including the days and times of their initial visits.
The time of your stay and play session is on the letter within the welcome pack handed out during out Reception Welcome Meeting.
September 2023
#teamcarrmill return to school in September for the Autumn Term on Tuesday 5/9/23. Our Reception class build up their time spent in school across the first week, as follows:
*A detailed overview of your child's individualised September transition, including arrival and pick up times, will be provided when you attend school on Tuesday 5/7/23 for the Stay and Play session.

All children who have attended Carr Mill Nursery to attend a full day 8:50 – 3:00. Children new to Carr Mill to attend school 8:50 – 11:30. |

All children who have attended Carr Mill Nursery to attend a full day 8:50 – 3:00. Children new to Carr Mill to attend school 8:50 – 12:30. |

All Reception children to attend a full day of school. 8:50 – 3:00. |

All Reception children to attend a full day of school. 8:50 – 3:00. |
We recognise that some children may find their first weeks of school harder than others. If we feel that your child would benefit from an extended gradual transition, we will arrange this with you on an individual basis.
