Beech Class, 14.03.25
Date: 13th Mar 2025 @ 10:57am
This week in Beech class we visited the zoo at Blackpool. We saw many different animals and had such a fun day! We all particularly liked the sea lion demonstration and the orangutans.
In class this week we have finished our Castles topic in both English and history. We wrote some fabulous non-chronological reports all about what castles are and the different parts of them. In history we focused upon Queen Elizabeth I and William I then we finished the topic by thinking about continuity and change over time with castles and kings and queens.
In maths we have been enjoying a new topic about position and direction. The children have loved playing 'robots' and learning the language to use when turning in a different direction - quarter turn, half turn, full (whole) turn.
The children have enjoyed using an online program to create bar charts in computing lessons this week. They first created a class tally chart to gather data then used this to display their findings on computer.
VIP this week was for history and it was awarded to Aydin for knowing lots of facts about kings and queens from the past.
We have also enjoyed kids’ choice AGAIN this afternoon for our fabulous attendance last week.
We have had some exciting news about attendance in assembly today. We have a two-week challenge to complete were the class with the highest attendance each day will earn a prize. We are hoping for some lovely treats!
Next week is DT week. We will be designing, tasting and creating fruit kebabs.
