The final week in school of the half term has been another great one in Beech Class. The children have continued to work hard and learn lots!

In English we have been investigating what the 'odd egg' was that Mrs Dixon found in her garden at home. We made predictions about what could hatch from it and we wrote amazing sentences using noun phrases to describe it in detail.

In maths we have been recapping and exploring further about 'shape' - 2D and 3D shapes and their properties, drawing 2D shapes and looking at shape patterns. In our Mastering Number sessions we have been looking at partitioning a 1-digit number to 'make 10' first using bus stories.

We have enjoyed our music lessons this week that have been led by Mr Carroll. The children have loved learning new songs, finding the beat, exploring rythym and pulse and perfoming their final pieces. We enjoyed dancing along too!

Our Easter attendance competition has been fantastic over the last 3 weeks and we have enjoyed all our prizes. This week we got to enjoy an extra playtime and a session of Kid's Choice. We also won twice this week for our final week before the break.

PE's Star of the half term was awarded to Freddy for his consistent hard work and respectful attitude in all lessons. Well done Freddy!

VIP this week was for science and it was awarded to Brandon G who showed great enthusiasm in his lessons and used scientific vocabulary well: carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.

Unfortunately it was Mr Carroll's last week with us in Beech Class as he is going to a new school next term to continue his teaching. We wish him all the very best for work at his next school.

Have a truly wonderful Easter break everybody and we will be ready to learn lots more in the next half term!
