Chestnut Week 2

Another fantastic week in Chestnut class! Well done everyone.

This week, the children have enjoyed Maths Week and have completed lots of fun activities. 

In English, Year 1 have produced some wonderful pieces of writing based on our text 'A River', whilst Reception have enjoyed reading the story of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'. 

In Computing, the children have been discussing sharing images and why it is important to be SMART online - Safe, Meet, Accept, Reliable, Tell. During the lesson we talked about sharing concerns about the online world with 'Trusted Adults' and never sharing personal details or images with strangers whilst using the internet. The children produced some lovely pieces of work during the lesson. Please also continue this discussion at home with your child. If you need any support with this, please speak to a member of Chestnut class who will be happy to help you. 

Next week, we will be visited by a child author, Max, who will be coming into school to share two of his books. We look forward to meeting Max when he joins us in class. 

Please ensure that all children bring their book bags to school every day as we have been encouraging this in class.
