Chestnut Class: Week 3

Date: 24th Jan 2025 @ 12:00pm

We have had another lovely week in school in Chestnut class.

Year 1 have been reading the text The Tiger Who Came to Tea and we have been completing lots of activities about the story.

Reception have been reading Who's Been Eating My Porridge? which is linked to last week's Goldilocks and the Three Bears text.

In Maths we have been continuing to learn about numbers up to 20 in Year 1 and numbers up to 5 in Reception. We have been learning to find 1 more and 1 less, subitise and place numbers on a number line.

This week, we started our new Geography topic and have spent the week learning about Villages, Towns and Cities. We started the topic by recapping our learning from our last topic; identifying the 4 countries in the United Kingdom and their capital cities. We have also been learning about the difference between human and physical features.

Next week in our Compting lessons we will be editing photographs.

Reminders: P.E. in Chestnut class is on a Monday and Thursday.

Please remember to bring book bags and water bottles to school every day.
